Will man schnell einige Eigenschaften eines Artikels oder einer Seite beabreiten, so musste man bisher für jeden Artikel/ jede Seite erst in die Bearbeiten-Ansicht wechseln, was Zeit kosten kann. Wer WordPress als Content Management System nutzt, will aber seine Inhalte schnell bearbeiten können. Hier hilft das Plugin Admin Management Xtended.
Dieses Plugin fügt in die Artikel-/ und Seitenverwaltungsansicht einige Icons ein, mit denen man per AJAX einige Eigenschaften der Artikel/Seiten bearbeiten kann, ohne die Seite neu laden zu müssen. Dazu zählen die Umschaltung der Sichtbarkeit, Ändern des Datums, des Titels, des Page slugs und Ändern der Seitenreihenfolge via Drag’n'Drop *, Inline Kategorie Management und Inline Tag Management.
Anforderungen
Das Plugin benötigt WordPress 2.5+, unterstützt 2.6 und 2.7 (ab Plugin-Version 2.0), 2.8 und 2.9

Installation
- Downloaden Sie das Plugin und entpacken Sie es.
- Laden Sie den entpackten Ordner admin-management-xtended/ in den /wp-content/plugins/ Ordner hoch.
- Aktivieren Sie das Plugin im WordPress Administrationsbereich.
- Fertig die Installation.
Upgrade
- Deaktivieren Sie das Plugin im WordPress Administrationsbereich.
- Laden Sie den entpackten Ordner admin-management-Xtended/ in den /wp-content/plugins/ Ordner hoch und überschreiben die alte Version.
- Aktivieren Sie das Plugin im WordPress Administrationsbereich.
Hinweise zur Ändern der Seitenreihenfolge via Drag’n'Drop
Seit Version 1.0 ist es möglich, die Seitenreihenfolge via Drag’n'Drop umzustellen. Derzeit ist es jedoch lediglich möglich, die Top Level Seiten zu verschieben, also nur jene Seiten, die keine übergeordneten Seiten haben. Geplant ist aber, dies in Zukunft auch für “Kind-Seiten” möglich zu machen.

When you want to edit properties of posts/pages, you’ll have to open the edit page, set the new options and save the post/page… which obviously takes time. For those who are using WordPress as a CMS, it’s important to be able to manage contents easily and quickly. That’s what this plugin helps to do.
It adds some icons to the Manage posts/pages view with AJAX-driven CMS-known functions like toggling post/page visibility, changing publication date and title without having to open the edit screens or reload the page. Plus changing page order via Drag’n'Drop *, inline category management and inline tag management.
Requirements
The plugin requires WordPress 2.5+, supports 2.6 and 2.7 (from plugin version 2.0), 2.8 and 2.9

Installation
- Download the plugin and unzip it.
- Upload the folder admin-management-xtended/ to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
- Activate the plugin from your WordPress admin panel.
- Installation finished.
Upgrade
- Deactivate the plugin from your WordPress admin panel.
- Upload the folder admin-management-xtended/ to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder and overwrite the existing file.
- Activate the plugin from your WordPress admin panel.
Notes on changing page order via Drag’n'Drop
Since Version 1.0 it is possible to change page order via drag’n'drop. Currently it’s only possible to drag top level pages, that means only those pages with no parent pages. It is planned to make it possible for child pages, though.

Gr8 plugin, if i could have some desires, it would be – changing the slugs, changing the position (order) of pages, changing the parent of the pages. And I guess that someone would then like also changing/adding of tags & categories

And can’t help noticing that your post IDs are show in the admin page. May I know what plugin or whatever does this job?
Oliver : not, no blonking but when I try to click on the little calendar, the date I choose before is highlighted, as if it was changed but if I edit the post in the normal way, the old date is still here.

I think you have some awesome, very useful plugins.
Es tut mir leid, I only use WP 2.3.3, for 3 major reasons – WP 2.5 has bugs; many plugins don’t work in 2.5; the admin interface in 2.5 is aweful.
There must be a reliable statistic out there (www.wordpress.org) to see that most people still use WP 2.3.
So I only wish that your awesome plugins were available for 2.3.3, or perhaps clearly marked as to which versions they are compatible with.
@馬龍: In fact, almost all of my plugins are compatible to version prior to 2.5. Except for my “Reveal IDs …” plugin, that wouldnt make sense for 2.3.x since the IDs are displayed per default in 2.3.x. This plugin “Admin Management Xtended” is available for 2.5 only, cos of some hooks I use were introduced with 2.5.
They are already marked as to which versions they are compatible with. Just look into the “Requirements” section.

Ich testegerade version 0.8 und hätte eine Frage dazu:
ein Feature, welches ich schon lange suche, wäre das DAtum mehrere Posts gleichzeitig zu ändern.
Warum?
Ich benutze eine Gallery welches jedes Bild als eigenen Post speichert. Wenn ich nun hinterherhänge mit dem Uplaod meiner URlaubsbilder, und sie im Nachhinein uploade, passt das Datum nicht mehr. Ich muss dann immer manuell das Datum änden.
Es wäre wundervoll, wnn dieses Datum ändern Feature auch gleich für eine ganze Batch von Posts funktionieren würde.

great work on the introduction of the page order functionality. I always thought that drag-and-drop ordering of pages would be something they would include as core in future versions but it just never happened.
If the page ordering could be made drag-and-drop and the page-order value was set as the list item was ‘dropped’ that would remove the need for the page order fields to be visible, and would make it really easy to quickly re-arrange pages.
this plugin does it but it uses a different page entirely so that makes it a bit clumsy.

Wäre halt einfach genial, wenn ich z.B. alle Posts einer Kategorie denn bei mir entspricht eine KAtegorie einem Album, auf einen Rutsch “datieren” könnte.Trotzdem geniales PLugin, vielen Dank.

Dafür prädestiniert sich quasi phpmyAdmin. Wenn du ein wenig Ahnung von MySQL hast, kannst du damit das Datum aller Beiträge einer Kategorie auf einmal setzen. So würde ich es zumindest machen.

There’s only one thing I would wish for – the ability to toggle comment_status open/closed for posts. I’m developing a site which uses posts as trouble tickets, so you can see it would be very useful

Hi, the tool is great however when activated I found out this plugin does not allow Windows Live Writer to publish content with images. I get the metaWeblog.newMediaObject error message. Uploading without images works fine… Maybe something you could investigate. Due to this reason I decided not to use this plugin.

I like this plug-in, but have some problems using it in a multi-author setup. This plugin allows people with contributor roles to perform admin level changes to their own posts as well as others.

For add/remove categories, something similar is just available, but it doesn’t work with wp 2.5. Maybe it can be usefule for you. Here the plugin.@steve: May you please provide some more infos? I did check capabilities with Contributor role and others, and all works as it should for me. A Contributor doesnt see any of my extra inline buttons. What exactly are your Contributors able to do in your blog with my plugin, that they shouldnt?

Mir fehlt die Kategorienverwaltung bei dem Plugin
es wäre einfach spitze wenn man genauso unkompliziert (wie beim Datum usw) die Kategorien ändern könnte.Das würde einem viel an Arbeit erleichtern.
Wäre das vielleicht möglich? in der nächsten Version?@Jared: Ja, dies hat derzeit Top-Priorität, da dies viele Leute wünschen, wie du in den letzten 5+ Kommentaren über deinem sehen kannst. Allerdings haben die WP-Entwickler seit Version 2.5 etwas umgestellt, das es erschwert, eine saubere Inline-Lösung zu implementieren. Aber es wird daran gearbeitet.

I guess your issue might be a result of non-western characters since you’re using arabic ones, right? But I cant say any more precise unless I can see the source code.

i will not release some thing with out trying it lolSuper Plugin. Was ich allerdings noch suche, ist ein Plugin, dass es mir ernöglicht, zB per Doppelklick Posts direkt auf der Index-Seite bearbeiten zu können, ohne erst den Admin-Bereich aufrufen zu müssen. WP ist seit 2.5 wesentlich langsamer geworden, weshalb es manchmal lästig ist, den Admin-Bereich laden zu müssen.

Sehr feine Sache das Plugin, besten Dank. Jetzt wäre es noch schön, wenn es diese “Reihenfolge”-Felder wie am Ende der Seitenliste auch in der Mediathek geben würde. Über menu_order wird bei der neuen WP-internen Gallery-Funktion [gallery] nämlich auch die Reihenfolge der Bilder festgelegt.
Bisher habe ich das direkt per MySQLAdmin mühsam in der Datenbank editiert, ist natürlich ziemlich umständlich.Hey Putzlowitsch,
wenn es ein menu_order Feld in der DB gibt, dann frage ich mich, warum die Entwickler dann keine Möglichkeit anbieten, das auch zu nutzen? Habe es auf die ToDo Liste gepackt.
Mir sind auch noch ein paar andere Sachen bei der neuen Medienverwaltung/Galerie aufgefallen, die man mit eine paar Codezeilen bereits im WP-Kern hätte erschlagen konnen. Nun muß man sie halt per Plugin hinten ranstricken. Wenigstens gibt es da meist passende Filter-/Action-Hooks, die einem die Arbeit erleichtern.
Ich hatte das Feld menu_order schon intern für ein paar Sachen “mißbraucht”, da es ja bisher nur bei den Seiten verwendet wurde.

A proposal – has anyone developed the ability to custom order posts? Posts cannot be custom ordered like Pages & instead can only be ordered by their date (or title, etc). I think the ability to override the default date ordering for Posts and define a custom order would be useful. We’ve tinkered with the concept & added in the ability to this plugin to drag & drop posts, using an auxiliary date field in the wp_posts table to store a unique date for custom ordering the Posts.
Any thoughts?

Hi! Firstly, thank you for a wonderful plugin! Unfortunately I am only using one of the many abilities which your plugin is capable of and I was wondering if you could shed a little light on how you managed it.
Your plugin allows a post to be ‘hidden’ – I needed this ability so that whenever I password protect a post I am able to ‘hide’ it from casual visitors and send the permalink to people who I wish to be able to view the post. I have had a look through your source code and have traced the ability to hide the post back to an ajax function. Sadly, my javascript skills are limited and I am unable to work out _how_ you managed to ‘hids’ a post.
Are you able to contact me (via e-mail if you prefer) and inform me about how you managed this? I wish to write a very simple plugin which allows me to automatically ‘hide’ all posts which are password protected and only have them accessible via direct permalink. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you again for saving my bacon!

Hope that already helps. The JS is actually SACK which is built-in in WP, so I make use of it to not need to include another JS library.

It is mainly the ‘visibility’ that I am unsure of… is there a column in one of the core databases which allows you to flag it’s status? Any chance you can point me at the specific php function?

the shorturl should work now. I was just playing around a bit. There you’ll see how I manage to toggle the visibility status. In the wp_posts table there’s a row called “post_status” that I just switch between ‘draft’/'publish’. ‘draft’ means invisible here.
The rest of my function is just simple database/PHP stuff.

Hier weiß jemand, was Webmaster brauchen, das Plugin finde ich wirklich unverzichtbar – verstehe gar nicht, warum sowas nicht von Haus aus dabei ist?!? So kann man sich nun auch “mass edit pages” sparen und bekommt noch viel mehr Funktionen dazu. Bin echt begeistert!
Hey Oliver, I am glad to find out that the plugin is getting me interesting on every update. I liked the new post revision feature. I would suggest to develop this further:
When I click on the post revision icon near posts, I get the window which shows the post revision of that post. Would it be able to add an option to that window which enables clearing or emptying the post revision of that post?
Post revisions sometimes keeps unwanted information in the database, and there should be time where we don’t want to keep them.

I find this as an useful tool, but there seems to be a problem while trying to edit a post title with special characters like apostrophe or single quote. The change dialod simply does not load!

@Joost: Seems like you spotted out a little mistake. The L10n file for dutch language doesnt have underscore between nl and NL, but uses nl-NL. So it’ll work if you rename the .mo and .po file to admin-management-xtended-nl_NL.po . I’ll have this fixed with the next version, and already in the SVN repository.
@偶爱偶家: At this time I didnt find an extendable jQuery calendar plugin that allows time changing. If you find one, lemme know. Or I’ll do one myself, but that would take some time.

I already changed the dashes to underscores before and it still didn’t work. But after upgrading to WP 2.6 this afternoon the translation worked fine. I’m not sure why it didn’t work in 2.5 though.
Anyway, it works like a charm now. Great plugin!!

When I was signed in as admin I hid all drafts. Now there is no way to toggle the visability. I don’t see them as drafts any longer. I don’t know where to find the drafts.

I think there is a little incompatibility between your plugin and OZH’s plugin. His plugin offers a drop down menu for the backend which falls back onto javascript in case of IE and on the manage post panel it breaks. I don’t know which plugin is a fault, I jsut know your two plugins don’t want to play nicely together, so maybe you can analyze the problem?

I just guessed the problem was your plugin combined with ozh’s as I couldn’t find another plugin that was active in the backend, but as your newly created blog doesn’t have this problem, it can’t be any of the plugins from the mu-folder either, so it must be something that that particular blog has activated.I found the culprit
During my tests with drop down menus it seems one of the other candidates, wasn’t completely off/deactivated, so in the old blogs I had these glitches while in the new blogs, like your testblog they were absent.Thanks for all your help and for this great plugin.

Nun bin ich auf ein weiteres Problem gestoßen, welches aber nicht den Anwender, sondern eher andere Plugin-Programmierer betrifft.
Da durch die Ajax-Funktionen einige Sachen an den WP-Funktionen “vorbeilaufen”, greifen bestimmte Action-Hooks nicht mehr.
So habe ich mich bei einem Plugin in die Action ‘edit_link’ eingeklinkt, um z.B. weitere Aktionen beim Ändern der Sichbarkeit auszufühern. Das geht nun leider nicht mehr.Meine Idee wäre daher, das jeweils vor dem Ende der Ajax-Funktion, also bevor das die(…) aufgerufen wird, ein do_action eingefügt wird, dem dann die ID, z.B. die Link-ID oder Post-ID übergeben wird. Im konkreten Fall könnte das so aussehen:
do_action( ‘ame_toggle_linkvisibility’, $linkid );Oder noch kompatibler, einfach den originalen Action-Hook aufrufen, also z.B.:
do_action( ‘edit_link’, $linkid );Gruß

Da heißt es wohl, demnächst nochmal durch den ganzen Quelltext gehen.

This is one of the most useful plugins I’ve ever come across
But it has some weird bug with Gengo language plugin – it does not prevent Gengo activation but messes up all other plugin/theme localizations. If I have this plugin enabled other plugins and theme get translated only to default language.I know very little about PHP but I made a fix which works for me. I moved the call to the localization domain out of the class-constructor(in admin-management-extended.php), like this:

There’s an important problem with this plugin. My blog system works on “contributor” members. A contributor “advise” an article, and an author promote it for a normal article.
But with that tool, contributors has the chance to approve their own articles, and that’s a little bug i think. But an important bug for the sites like us.

Ever since I started using your plug-in, I’ve been getting 404 errors from the following file… “…../plugins/admin-management-xtended/js/jquery-addons/date_en_US.js?ver=1.8.7″. I then realized that I don’t even have that file. I’m not sure what breaks when that file isn’t found, but I decided to create the file based on the other location files.
Create a new file called ‘date_en_US.js and put it inside the js/jquery-addons folder inside the plugin folder. Place the following code inside that file and upload it to your server.

PeterI’ve been using your plugin for some time and it’s great except for one small thing. Whenever I set the date using the calendar in Admin Extended the display date shows one day in the past. Clicking the 14th displays the 13th. Any thoughts on why this might be happening? This isn’t an isolated case I’ve used this plugin on several sites with the same issue.

this is a WP Time Offset thing, that I’m aware of. The time set by the popout calendar is saved as GMT, so it’s -2 hours. When you’ll have a look in your DB the time is 10pm, the day earlier. Thats what your installation shows up. I’ll have a look at it.

I encounter an issue using AMX 1.8.8 (WP 2.6.2) with SLL connection in admin panel. All links are in https but all AMX links stay in http. So, some features like visibility toogling doesn’t work.

Oliver, I’ve found a good way to make AMX work with SSL connection. I’ve installed the following plugin :
HTTPS for WordPress : http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/https-for-wordpress/
Then, I ran Google Gears (Turbo option) and reload admin panel with an empty cache.
All works very well now

Thank you for the tip. I removed the few lines involving GMT and it seems to be working. I haven’t exactly run this through extensive testing or anything. One thing that seems strange is when I set the post date in the past it auto publishes the post if it is a draft. This is a feature in this plugin that could be corrected. Only publish the post if the Admin specifically gives instruction to, just a thought as this is still a great plugin.
Here is what I adjusted:
line 462: $newpostdate = ( date(“Y-m-d H:i:s”, strtotime( $_POST['pickedDate'] )) );
line 462 Note: Removed “get_date_from_gmt”
line 463: Delete or Comment Out
line 467: Delete or Comment Out@Gasp: Glad you fixed it with this little plugin. The Codex suggests using plugins like yours aswell.
@Doc4: Those lines with ‘get_date_from_gmt’ are needed for DB entries since there are two rows for post_date and post_date_gmt that need to be updated. I do have an idea to fix this, though. What’s your setting in wp-admin in Settings> General> Time Zone?

Neither the time nor the date are updating.
When I click the icon, the calendar appears with the correct date selected, but the time always says 12:00.
I can type a new time into the text boxes, but when I click close, it doesn’t update the time on the post.
When I click a day, the popup disappears without updating the date.I hope that all makes sense!

@btp: To make this clear for me: You click the icon to open the popout calendar, enter the time, and click the date. The calendar disappears, but post date doesn’t change? Well, for approx. 99% of the plugin users this is working fine. May you please provide a demo login (doesn’t need admin rights, editing capabilites would be okay)?
@Aouni: For 95% I’ll stop maintaining the plugin in WP2.7. A notice for 2.7 users is already built-in. As you already said, 2.7 has a QuickEdit feature, so there’s no need for mine anymore.
@tomas kapler: That’s not possible. Pretty tricky thing, especially since with 2.6 pages are paginated. How to move a dragged item to the next page? Plus, 2.7 is about to release, maybe it’s built in then.

.New WordPress 2.7 has some awesome features which it’s hard not to use their Beta version, but the plugin has an major issue with the new version. You can’t see the tags from the CMS. (unless you go in the full post editing).

Schade, das du das Plugin mit 2.7 einstellen willst, da die eingebaute Quickedits nicht so gut sind wie bei dir. Ich nutz z.B. die Pagereihenfolge und die ist bei 2.7 nicht so komfortabel eingebaut wie es mit deinem Plugin war. In der SVN Version hat dein Plugin zumindest optisch gut funktioniert.

Great plugin, a simple feature request would be to incorporate the following basic plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exclude-pages/
All this does is allow a page to not show up when pages are listed, it would be great to have this on the manage pages page as a button to do more quickly for lots of pages.

Scheinbar scheint bei mir aber grundsätzlich etwas kaputt zu sein, da ich den Threadcharakter bei meinen Kommentaren nicht mehr hinbekomme (sprich, wenn ich im Adminbereich auf einen Kommentar anworte, rutscht meine Antwort ganz nach unten wie ein neuer Kommentar).

that’s not a bug. It’s a feature.
Ordering subpages depending on their parents is a mite tricky, so I intentionally disabled subpages when ordering pages via drag&drop to avoid unwanted behaviour.

This should be mentioned somewhere (in English). I’ve been desperate for a while to lower the memory usage of our company’s website as we exceeded 32MB of RAM and couldn’t figure out why.
I deleted the language files now and hope that it reduces the memory (although of course I’m aware that this isn’t the only cause…)Thanks for the great plugin! The only thing I’d be looking for is resizing of columns.
By the way, the columns that I deselect are not remembered the next time I view the page. Is this a known issue?

Ordering subpages depending on their parents is a mite tricky, so I intentionally disabled subpages when ordering pages via drag&drop to avoid unwanted behaviour.

da ich Dein Plugin bei früheren Projekten (vor WP 2.7) immer sehr zu schätzen wusste und ich es nach wie vor für eine gute Ergänzung zum “eingebauten” QuickEdit halte, wollte ich es in einem aktuellen 2.7er Projekt zusätzlich installieren. Irgendwas hat sich da aber leider fundamental gebissen, denn plötzlich wurden nur noch Fragmente des Backends geladen. (Las oben, dass es wohl ein Speicherproblem ist.) Kurzum, ich hab das Plugin wieder deinstalliert.
Nach der Installation/Deinstallation von Admin Management Xtended funktioniert nun das normale QuickEdit nicht mehr richtig. In der Artikel-Übersicht ist alles in Ordnung, aber in der Seiten-Übersicht fehlen plötzlich die Speichern/Abbrechen-Buttons unter dem QuickEdit. Ist Dir das schon mal untergekommen? Ich bin komplett ratlos und reichlich verzweifelt, da ich diesen Bug unbedingt beheben muss, bevor ich das Projekt übergebe. Vielleicht hättest Du einen sachdienlichen Hinweis für mich?

wenn mein Plugin deaktiviert ist, greift es in keine Hooks mehr ein, sodass es auch das normale “QuickEdit” nicht mehr beeinflussen sollte.
Hast du schon mal probiert, alle anderen Plugins auch zu deaktivieren, und peu-á-peu zu reaktivieren? Dann würdest du sehen, woran es liegt.
Ich möchte zwar nicht 100% ausschließen, dass es ein Bug in meinem Plugin sein könnte, allerdings sehe ich gerade keinen Weg, wie mein Plugin im deinstallierten Zustand Einfluss auf WP ausüben könnte, da es keinerlei Daten – auch im installierten Zustand – schreibt, die nach der Deinstallation noch vorhanden wären.

are you sure? I’ve tested that feature with 2.8, and it works perfectly fine for me. Have you tried deactivating all plugins except “Admin Management Xtended” to look if the error is still present?
Super Plugin, und scheint auch in 2.8 zu funktionieren! Bis auf eine Kleinigkeit: Wenn man die Kategorien ändern will, öffnet sich eine Lightbox. Hier sind die Kategorien aber – zumindest bei mir – nicht in ihrer richtigen Hierarchie angezeigt. Könnte sein, dass es statt dessen nur die Reihenfolge anzeigt, in der man die Kategorien angelegt hat. Ist das ein Bug?

generell sollte die hierarchische Anzeige korrekt sein. Was du meinst, könnte aber folgender Sachverhalt sein. Wenn man aus einer bestimmten Hierarchie eine Kategorie auswählt, wird diese IMMER am Anfang der Liste angezeigt, und nicht mehr in der Hierarchie. Am Anfang kommen also immer erst die selektierten, dann die restlichen verfügbaren Kategorien.
Kannst du das so bestätigen?
Hm, ja und nein. In der Regel stimmt das schon, allerdings wenn man z.B. eine Oberkategorie wählt, und dann eine der Unterkateogien dazu, dann passiert folgendes:
1. Gewählte Oberkategorie
1.1 Gewählte Unterkategorie
2. Hierarchisch alle anderen Kategorie
2.2 …jeweils eingerückt die Unterkategrien
3. Zweite Unterkategeorie von Nr. 1
4. Dritte Unterkategorie von Nr. 1Bei diesen letzen beiden ist also weder alphabetisch noch erkennbar, dass sie zur Oberkategorie 1 gehören.
Aber jetzt bin ich pingelig, sorry …

meine Anzeige nutzt die selbe Funktion zur Anzeige der hierarchischen Kategorie wie WordPress selbst in der Artikelbearbeitungsansicht. Es müsste sich beide Anzeigen also decken.
Aber wie du schon sagtest… das ist Kikifax, solange das Plugin funktioniert.

It’s working very well when SSL is not active, however, as soon as I use “define(‘FORCE_SSL_ADMIN’, true);”, all ajax calls stop working correctly. Is there a setting I need to set somewhere for this plugin to work with SSL? I really need to use SSL.

I think I’ve found small bug in latest version. There are no difference in display between “All” and “Published”. Option “All” doesn’t show scheduled posts of drafts. It’s not big problem, just a little bit annoying

Fantastic plugin and great to be able to do so much without having to edit the post. I have noticed thought that future scheduled posts do not publish at the time and date set. I have to go in and toggle the page to ‘visible’ and it will post. It there a fix for this?
Actually setting a future date should set the post status to future post and publish it at the date and time set. I’ll have a closer look at it.
Yes I did that, but it didn’t publish at the specified time. The status changed to ‘missed schedule’ and didn’t post. It posted when I toggled the page to visible.

Hi Oliver. Thank you very much for this excellent plugin. I noted with suprise that the exclude-pages plugin was integrated with your plugin, and works very nicely.
I have another suggestion. There’s a plugin called “Page Lists Plus” that allows you not only toggle page visiblity in menus (the same as exclude-pages) but it also allows you to have a different menu text for a page – you’re not limited to using the page title. It would be fabulous if this functionality was integrated into your plugin at some point, so that the quick-edit function had a field for the menu text, if the plugin was installed.Keep up the great work!

I just installed the plugin today and used the “Edit Page Slug” (Direct Input) function to update the permalink of some of my pages.
To be more accurate I changed some underscores (_) into dashes (-).But when I tried to open the pages again from my homepage I had them all returning with 404 Page not found although the URL in the browser was the new correct one (!)
I had a slight moment of panic before I found a solution by opening manually each page and clicking on the “Update” icon. Then all my pages came back again. Phew!As I love this plugin and find it very useful, I thought I let you know so that you could have a look.

I just changed both post and page slugs for testing and I didn’t get any 404 errors. The slugs changed right after I’ve saved the changes. Are you using some kind of cache plugins on your blog?

Why not add the function “Duplicate” with the usual function “Edit” “Quick Edit” “Trash” “View”?
I am now using another plugin called duplicate pages/posts but that adds another plugin in the list.
I guess that more and more users (like me) use WordPress as a CMS and with quite a few number of pages.
In this case Admin Management Xtended Plugin is really useful and this duplicate function would make it even nicer.
As I said “Just an idea”What are you using the duplicated page for? To have the contents prefilled?
Yes Oliver, I just launched a new site with tables and charts. It’s a hotel guide directory and I duplicate pages to have the same “template” then replace/update some content. It’s quicker and I’m sure pages look the same and SEO data are in the same order.

On the options panel the first textfield is for prefilling the post content, the second one is for pages. That’s how I handle “content templates” on another blog.

Yes this is a nice plugin. In case anyone is interested in duplicating PAGE or POST, there is also this plugin:
Allows to create a draft copy of a post (or page) in two ways:
1. In ‘Edit Posts’/'Edit Pages’, you can click on ‘Duplicate’ link;
2. While editing a post/page, you can click on ‘Copy to a new draft’ above “Cancel”/”Move to trash”.

OK I understand Admin Management Xtended Plugin is an interface and a duplicate function is another code writing.
So maybe it’s simpler to stay with 2 plugins.

One minor usability issue, I use the HeadSpace plugin for SEO, which puts two extra fields “Page Title” and “Description” in front of the buttons your plugin provides, which means there’s only about two words per line for those fields.
However, the “Post Order” field has a fair amount of extra whitespace when it is enabled — turning that function off gives the HeadSpace plugin a reasonable enough area to display.
Perhaps a future release could reduce the amount of excess space between the buttons and the Post Order field?
Other than that, it’s great — does exactly what is written on the box!

Dein Plugin funktioniert wunderbar bis… zu viele Benutzer im Blog registriert sind. Ich habe eine Leserliste von knapp 5000 und dann funktioniert Admin Management Extended nicht mehr. Hatte zuerst gedacht, es läge an anderen Plugins, bis ich auf die Idee kam, es mit einer anderen Installation zu vergleichen, die identisch ist bis auf die Anzahl der Nutzer. Und, oh Wunder. es klappte. Nun bin ich leider kein php Nerd, um eine eigene Lösung zu finden und frage daher Dich, ob Du eine Idee dazu hast? Das würde mich sehr freuen.
Etwas genauere Zahlen noch: 6340 Benutzer. Ich habe schrittweise je 100 gelöscht. Ab unter 5900 ist die Funktionalität wieder da. Wenn die Zahl größer ist, wird die Seite offensichtlich nicht komplett geladen – der Footer fehlt und damit die Javascripte, die für die Funktionen auf der Seite notwendig sind.
OK, manchmal muss man nur einen Kommentar schreiben, um selbst eine Lösung in Gang zu bringen. Nicht schön, aber selten: ich habe die Funktion wp_dropdown_users gehackt, dass sie nur die tatsächlichen Autoren ausgibt. Und siehe da: Problem gelöst. Jetzt kann Dein komfortables Plugin seine Qualitäten voll zur Geltung bringen. Herzlichen Dank dafür.

super Plugin! Leider habe ich ein Problem mit der Übersetzung. Ich nutze die von wordpress.de bereitgestellte “WordPress 2.9.2 DE-Edition”. Leider hatte ich noch keine Zeit den Sachverhalt mit anderen Versionen von WordPress zu testen.
Zum Problem: Installation und Nutzung des PlugIns sind problemlos möglich, jedoch werden alle Bildschirmtexte in Englisch angezeigt. Das ist mir schon öfter aufgefallen (immer “DE-Edition”), habe mich jedoch nie daran gestört – bis ich gesehen habe das Dein PlugIn Multi-Language fähig ist. Beschriebenes Problem tritt bei mir mit Mac OSX 10.5, Apache 2.2 (MacPorts), PHP 5.2.4 und Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Apache 2.2 , PHP 5.3.2 auf – sowie auf allen Installationen auf den Zielsystemen verschiedener Provider mit besagter “DE-Edition”.
Nachdem ich mir die Sache mal im PHP-Debugger (Ubuntu) angesehen habe, ist mir aufgefallen das eine `if`-Abfrage in der mo.php der WordPress-Installation fehlschlägt/`false` liefert.

Understood. However, with AMX activated, the issue exists. The problem stops when AMX is deactivated.What exactly happens to the categories when being merged? And by bulk editing, did you mean bulk editing of posts or categories?
Let’s say there are three posts, all in separate categories, and you’ve selected all three for bulk editing.
You only change the ability to comment, or something else other than categories.
When you’re done, they all now belong to all three categories.

Using WP 3.0.4 + 2010 theme, the plugin breaks the Posts/Bulk-Edit function. For example, if two posts are selected and bulk edit is used to assign them to “Private”, the categories are also changed, without any user action.

Sind Kleinigkeiten, aber ich war froh eine deutsche Übersetzung zu diesem tollen Teil zu haben.

hmm, it does show up in all of my 3.0.4 WP installations. Do you happen to have any plugins installed that deal with the plugin page? Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to check if it does have problems with any other plugin?

Hehe, wollte doch grad drauf hinweisen, dass es das doch schon gibt. Ich wünschte, Probleme würden sich immer so wie hier von selbst lösen.
I love this plugin. I only have one problem. The default time for the date scheduler is 12:00. If I change the time using the plugin, it does not retain itself. Meaning, if I set it for 6:00, it automatically changes to 12:00.

Man konnte doch Auswählen wie man z.B. Seiten sortieren möchte.
Ich habe jetzt das Auswahlmenü dazu nicht mehr oberhalb rechts stehen. Also kann ich Drag und Drop nicht mehr Auswählen.Gibt´s da eine Idee? Dankeeee

habe gerade mal geschaut bei mir und in WP 3.1 habe ich diese Buttons oben rechts noch drin, kann also auch noch via Drag’n'drop umschalten.
Hast du zufällig noch ein anderes Plugin aktiviert, das die Anzeige da irgendwie stört? Bei Posts gab es nie ein Drag’n'Drop.

In the plugin screencast some very good features are show like drag and drop, Show/hide invisible posts. However, when i install i do not get any of these features. I do get the buttons on the post list that allow me to publish/unpublish posts and change publish date. I also get a box to enter the post order number but no drag and drop.
Please help!
You can switch between input and drag’n'drop on top of the page listing table.

Great and useful plugin !!I have version 2.2
I run into a problem with reorder post type ( post, pages, etc.) by direct input tool.
I just wanted to let you know I fixed it by changing your code in the function “ame_custom_column_page_order” line 128 . I added $q_post_order->post_type on the input id and on js function “ame_ajax_order_save” parameters.
Can you confirm this problem and fix?

Great handy Plugin! I also like it to support with some power features like – direct seo parameter editing on page/post admin listing page via ajax. That will make life much easier…

But you can do it for the most popular one – AIO seo. I have seen Admin Management Xtended getting all the seo parameter nicely one the all page/post admin listing page. Only need to implement the direct ajax editing feature on that page. This feature will be a nice addition.

Not sure what exactly you’re trying to do, but the post table row for dates is post_date.
Hallo, erstmal vielen Danke für das tolle Plugin.
Ich habe ein kleines Schönheitsproblem in einem meiner Themes bei Verwendung von Admin Management Xtended, das die Funktionalität ansonsten nicht berührt.
Unter “Kategorien” und “Schlagwörtern” taucht auch “ame_cat_actions” und “ame_tag_actions” auf.
Wie kann das sein? Eine Idee, wo ich am schnellsten nachgucken könnte? Ansonsten werden die Kategorien und die Schlagwörter aber korrekt angegeben und sind auch editierbar in der tabellarsichen Übersicht.
Ich habe es bewusst nicht als Bug gemeldet, da wohl nur ich dieses Problem habe. Stattdessen habe ich alle 5 Sterne bei wordpress.org gegeben.

Du meinst, dass die Backend-Actions “ame_cat_actions” und “ame_tag_actions” bei dir auch im Frontend auf den “Kategorie”- und “Schlagwörter”-Seiten auftauchen?

I like to see the time, not just the date, for a post in the list.It would come in handy when You publishes more than one post a day and sets future date and time for publication.
It would be perfect because You can change both the date and time for publication of an post with Admin Management Xtended.
